Central Mississippi and Jackson 55+ Communities

55+ Communities, also called 55 Plus Communities, are active retirement havens for adults, offering varied amenities and housing from golf course homes to serene city living among like-minded neighbors. They typically include pools, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, tennis courts, clubhouses with kitchens, and championship golf courses in gated, resort-like environments.

Central Mississippi includes the cities of Jackson and Vicksburg and extends the width of the state. Jackson is the capital and the most populous city of the State of Mississippi. As of the 2000 census, Jackson's population was 184,256. As of July 1, 2006, the census estimates that the Jackson Metropolitan area (MSA), including its suburbs in Hinds, Rankin, Madison, Copiah, and Simpson counties, has a population of 529,456, more than one-sixth the population of the state.
