Southeast Ohio 55+ Communities
55+ Communities, also called 55 Plus Communities, are active retirement havens for adults, offering varied amenities and housing from golf course homes to serene city living among like-minded neighbors. They typically include pools, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, tennis courts, clubhouses with kitchens, and championship golf courses in gated, resort-like environments.
Southeast Ohio is defined by the State of Ohio to consist of the 29 south-easternmost counties. It is administered by the Governor's Office of Appalachia as part of the Appalachian Regional Commission, with three regional offices covering East Central Ohio, Southeast Ohio and Southern Ohio.
