Arkansas is a land of mountains and valleys, thick forests and fertile plains.
Arkansas shares it's southern border with Louisiana, it's northern border with Missouri, it's eastern border with Tennessee and Mississippi, and it's western border with Texas and Oklahoma. Northwest Arkansas is part of the Ozark Plateau including the Boston Mountains, and Southern Arkansas hosts the Ouachita Mountains. The southern and eastern parts of Arkansas are called the Lowlands, sharing most of it's eastern border with the Mississippi River. Arkansas is also home to 52 state park and seven national parks.
Between it's generally mild climate, inexpensive cost of living and natural attractions, Arkansas is a beautiful place to retire.
