Area Info
The Bluegrass region in northeastern Kentucky, encompasses a variety of scenic and cultural attractions. Ranging from mountainous areas to rolling horse country, the region lent its name to the popular genre of music.
The region gets its name from bluegrass, the common name for grass of the genus Poa, which is a favored lawn and pasture grass in the eastern United States from Tennessee northward.
