Tampa Bay - Florida: Active Lifestyles

Area Info

The Tampa Bay area is one of the most dynamic, vibrant—and popular—areas in Florida. From its beginnings as an army post in the Seminole wars, Tampa boomed with the arrival of the railroad, and has been booming in one way or another since. Its port is still busy, but now the city is a mature financial and cultural center as well, boasting amenities that would do much larger cities proud.

St. Petersburgh, on the other side of Tampa Bay, provides the southern anchor for a string of beaches that are among the most thronged in Florida. This area also remains one of the most popular areas for retirees, with developments in nearly all of the large and small communities.
