The Foothills in the U.S. state of North Carolina is a region of transistional terrain between the Piedmont Plateau and the Appalachian Mountains. Unlike the adjacent Western North Carolina, Piedmont Triad, and Metro Charlotte regions, these foothills do not have very clear regional boundaries.
