The Ponds is a master-planned community designed in the Lowcountry tradition of Summerville. Community Center This site's long history began 1682. The Historic Farmhouse, a restored original building dating from the 1840's is The Community's focal point.

Planned Activities In addition to living in the finest new homes in South Carolina, the residents at The Ponds are surrounded by many local area events and community activities. World-renowned arts shows, outdoor music festivals, and wonderful sporting events are just a few of the many cultural activities that await you at The Ponds and in the Summerville and Charleston area.

Fitness Center The Ponds features a new, state of the art YMCA Summerville providing activities, sports, a wellness center and a variety of activities for The Ponds community. This project was spearheaded by a $1 million land donation and a $3 million construction cost gift by Greenwood Communities and Resorts.

Outdoor Activities Within their own community, residents can enjoy walking, kayaking, canoeing, gardening, historic preservation, a new YMCA, swimming, an 11-acre multipurpose field, and an outdoor pavilion. Nearby Summerville and Dorchester County offer museums, boating, sightseeing, four golf courses, hunting and fishing, horseback riding, and baseball.

Golf There are four golf courses within easy driving distance of The Ponds.

Water/ Marina/ Boating Whether it's kayaking on Schulz Lake, canoeing up to the headwaters of the Ashley River or just sunning on the banks of the Amphitheatre pond, there are a variety of water-related activities the whole family can enjoy together at The Ponds.
