Hampton Lake, the Carolina Lowcountry’s first, and finest private freshwater lake
community. This is life at its best – casual and relaxing, with all of the amenities of a
high-end resort. In fact, the community is consecutive winners of the national Best in American Living Award (BALA) for "Best Community in America" and "Best
Community Facility" in the country by NAHB.
Surrounded by wooded preserves, the 165-acre lake is the centerpiece of the
community, and a tranquil backdrop for the seemingly limitless living options.
Whether you come for the naturally beautiful setting, the endless opportunities for fun
with family and friends or the best of Lowcountry living, you’ll find it on the shores of
Hampton Lake.

AMENITIES

Restaurants/Food Service There's no pretense at the friendliest, most relaxed eating and drinking place at the lake. Wear your most comfortable jeans and bring all your friends. Bring the kids and grandkids, too. Everyone is welcome at Backwater Bill's. With its down-home Lowcountry menu (think corn and crab fritters, smoked brisket, chopped salad, just to mention a small sample of the delicious fare), inviting fishing lodge decor, and views of the lake everywhere you turn, this is the place to be for lunch or dinner. Or grab a seat at the bar, inside or out, and get caught up with your neighbors or spin a tale or two about the largemouth Tiger Bass you were "this close" to catching on the lake.

Fitness Center Large state-of-the-art fitness center will offer expert personal evaluation and training with a focus on preventive methodology, group programs, Pilates class, cardio room, hydro-jet pool and Gyrotonics

Pools/Spas Full-service spa will offer hot stone and deep muscle massages, pedicures, manicures and facials.

Choose from a family-oriented resort-style pool with a central island and lazy river, an adults only pool with shaded cabanas, a children's water play area with squirting pelicans, bubblers and an assortment of other features or a sandy beach.

Golf How close is great golf? You can drive your personal golf cart through Hampton Lake’s South Gate right next door to Hampton Hall…and be there in just minutes! We have arranged equity golf memberships there on the beautiful, 18-hole Pete Dye championship course. With Hampton Hall’s clubhouse, pro shop and practice area, you can enjoy the best of golf literally in your own backyard. We also offer equity golf memberships at Berkeley Hall, with its two Tom Fazio courses and world-class practice area, just a short car drive from Hampton Lake’s front gate.

Tennis Our award-winning amenities may be newly completed, but that isn’t stopping us from continuing our efforts to bring fun and recreation to the lake. With three new Har-Tru tennis courts at Lakeside there’s plenty of room to get your family and friends together for a match, or just have a little fun. Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world, and now you can enjoy it at the lake! So swing to your hearts content with a breeze from the lake to keep you refreshed. And don’t be too shy to jump in the Lazy River afterwards! The pool will be sure to cool you off.

Water/ Marina/ Boating As a no-wake zone, Hampton Lake will be home to a variety of environmentally friendly, quiet watercraft: kayaks, canoes, and boats up to 22 feet in length with a boat motor size to about 25 hp. Smaller boats are required to have smaller horsepower engines (10-15 hp for boats 17-19 feet). All gas engines must be 4 cycle. Community offers canoe and kayak storage and lakeside boat ramp

Fishing Looking to reel in some largemouth "Tiger" bass, bluegill, hybrid-striped bass, or threadfin shad? No need to scout out the best freshwater fishing destination, at Hampton Lake it's right in your backyard. One of the privileges of creating a lake from scratch is the opportunity to construct the ideal underwater fish habitat, ensure great water quality, and stock it well. We did it all with help from world-class lake design consultants, Don Keller and Barry Smith of American Sportfish. These are the same guys that designed lakes for Presidents Jimmy Carter and George W. Bush, Disney World and many others. Our 15 miles of shoreline are a great place to cast for the largemouth bass and bluegill. Or fish out on the lake in one of the Carolina Skiffs or Sun Tracker boats available at Doc's Boathouse. It doesn't get easier or more fun than picking up a cane pole and bait at the Tackle Box for fishing off the dock. And the kids will love the fish feeders designed just for them on the Lakeside docks.

Scenic Views Walking isn't just good for the body, it's good for the soul. That's one of the reasons we set aside over 340 acres of permanently protected, hardwood forest as a peaceful habitat for wildlife. Plus nine miles of greenway trails that meander through the forest. Whether you walk, jog or ramble the tranquil trails and boardwalks, you'll find them an endless source of calm and a deep connection with nature. The lush, green preserve, framing the blue waters of Hampton Lake, showcases the Lowcountry's wildlife and wildflowers. White-tailed deer, wood ducks, raccoon, white ibis, barred owls, and green tree frogs call these woods home. Want to make your walk through the woods an enjoyable learning experience? Look for the educational nature exhibits found along the Greenways or take along your copy of the Hampton Lake Field Guide prepared by our naturalist Todd Ballantine. Whatever your trail leads, our greenways are sure to satisfy.

Nearby Attractions Located thirty minutes from Hilton Head Island, SC and Savannah, GA.

Clubhouse Step back in time to a place where the pace is easy and the surroundings relaxed. Designed like the comfortable places that generations enjoyed at the shore, our Lakehouse is the place where memories gather as easily as friends. Maybe it's the reclaimed barnwood paneling and rusted tin shed roof ceilings or the two grand stone fireplaces and the soothing sound of a crackling fire. Or maybe it's the large lake views or so many comfortable places to sit, visit with friends or just soak in the views. The spacious Lodge Room is home to special events of all kinds. But when you just want to get away for a quiet moment, there's no better spot than one of the rocking chairs on the back deck or screened porch overlooking the lake.

Waterfront Views A day on the lake begins at Doc's Boathouse. The excitement builds as you walk along the dock under the high roof of the covered boat slips. In the cool of the shade, the water shimmers and shines, bouncing light off the rafters and letting you know this is the place you want to be. From here you can see the fish that gather under the dock. Your boat waits in the slip. But first a trip inside to see what the Tackle Box has ready for your day on the water. Here you can stock up on sunscreen, lures and bait. The kids can pick out their minnows and crickets or take a tour through Mother Nature's for a preview of the fish you'll be tracking down today. Doc's is the place for all things boating, whether you arrive in your own boat or rent one of the community's fishing or pleasure boats. Kayaks are also available at Doc's and are a great way to explore the lake.
