Tanglewood is a scenic 350-acre gated community for active retirees. Located in Sebring, the best small city in Florida, Tanglewood is big enough to offer you everything you can possibly think of to do, yet small enough to give you that hometown feeling.
Life in Tanglewood is filled with activities and entertainment. There is an adjacent golf course and 16 others nearby, tennis and pickleball courts, shuffleboard, water volleyball, petanque, horseshoes, a state-of-the-art fitness center, outdoor dance floors with bandstands and picnic areas. With dozens of lakes in the area, Tanglewood is a fisherman’s paradise.
The 28,000 square foot clubhouse sits on a 15-acre recreation complex that is the center of activities. Among its major features are the auditorium with a concert stage used for large shows and other entertainment, library and meeting rooms. The 9,000 square foot Activity Center features a state-of-the-art fitness center, billiards and ping pong room, meeting room and large outdoor screened room.
AMENITIES
Community Center Our beautiful 28,000 sq.ft. clubhouse sits raised in the center of our recreation area along with our new 9,000 sq.ft. activity center. The large stage & dance floor are great for the many dances and dance classes that are held there.
Learning/Business Center Our well stocked library has comfortable overstuffed chairs for you to relax in. The computer club offers classes for those who are looking to improve their computer skills. Only minutes away from South Florida Community college, many of our residents take advantage of the adult education classes that are available both day & night.
Restaurants/Food Service There are many wonderful restuarants right out our front gates for your dining pleasure. Our large, well equipped commercial kitchen is constantly in use with pot luck dinners,ladies luncheons, dinner dances & any reason imaginable for our residents to get together, eat and enjoy each others company.
Arts and Crafts The large arts & crafts center has much to offer. Beading,crocheting, knitting, quilting, stamping, paper tole' are just to name a few. There is also extensisve painting classes such as oil, one stroke & water color. A separate game room is great for cards, dominos many other activies.
Planned Activities Tanglewood has a full time social director that works with the volunteers to see that our many planned activies run smoothly. We also offer many clubs such as remote control, genealogy, fishing & rving. Our Professional Entertainment is the talk of the town. Our beautiful clubhouse and large stage host wonderful professional entainment year round with our winter & summer series.
Fitness Center Our spacious 30' x 40' fitness center is filled with state of the exercise equipment by Lamar, Nautilus just to name a few. From tread mills to weight machines, it is all there for your use.
Pools/Spas Our beautiful pool complex is always a hit with residents. It is gas heated so you are assured of comfortable water tempatures all year long. There is even a lap pool for the serious swimmer or you might enjoy playing water volleyball or just relaxing in the jacuzzi jets.
Indoor Activities The list of indoor activities just goes on and on. There are many types of dance classes from ballroom to line dancing just to name a few. There are also countless card groups from poker to eucure. The art and crafts that are offered seem to grow each year. Our 3000+ sq.ft. hobby shop has a fully equipped wood working shop and a stained glass shop.
Outdoor Activities If you are looking for outdoor activities you have found the right place. We have lighted tennis courts and shuffleboard courts. There are horeshoe pits, petanque, half court basketball,and our newest addition, pickle ball courts. Our monthly "bashes" take place at our picnic grounds with outdoor dance floor, bar-b-q pit, bandstand & campfire area. For you walkers we have a nature trail.
Golf The golf league gives you the opportunity to play six days a week with prices ranging from $10 to $30 for 18 holes on a regulation course which includes your cart. With a league of 300, we are members of GHIN handicap system, a USGA service. We offer on site putting greens as well and a pitching area to practice your short game.
Tennis
Gated Entry From the moment you enter through the gates at Tanglewood you are impressed with the manicured grounds, lush landscaping and beautiful flowers. You may see deer and sandhill cranes wandering through the wetland area and nature preserve. You will also enjoy looking at the many ponds and lighted fountains. Whichever impresses you most, you will know you are "home".
RV Storage We have a very large gated and lighted storage compound with more than 150 sites of various where residents may store a motorhome, boat, etc. at a nominal fee.
