Our commitment to care for the soul goes back to the founding of the first Lutheran Home in the late 1890s. Sophie Boessling approached her pastor to begin a new type of home—one focused on God’s Word, along with the needs of the body. From that original home our ministry has grown. Our health care and housing options provide opportunities to share the Gospel with the people who seek out our services. Jesus Cares Ministries, our outreach ministry program, assists volunteers from Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) and Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) congregations reach out to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their communities--to share Jesus.
